I am a Belgian explorer, documentary photographer, author, and public speaker, focusing on the fragile relationship between humans and nature. My work spans the world's most remote regions, from the polar ice caps to the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean, where climate change and environmental challenges are shaping the future.

Through my photography and storytelling, I document the impact of human activity on our planet, collaborating with scientific institutions, governments, and organizations to raise awareness and drive change. As a fellow of The Explorers Club and an EU Climate Pact Ambassador, I have spoken at international conferences, including multiple UN Climate Summits (COP), and exhibited my work at prestigious institutions worldwide.

I have worked extensively in marine and polar sciences, participating in expeditions that explore biodiversity, rising sea levels, and the consequences of environmental degradation. My projects include documenting disappearing Pacific island nations, Antarctic conservation efforts, and cutting-edge research initiatives in places like CERN and Jungfraujoch.

I believe in the power of visual storytelling to inspire action, and I collaborate with companies and organizations that share a commitment to sustainability—while remaining independent in my mission.

I am a co-founder, an advisory board member and the first Belgian contributor to the Arctic World Archive (AWA)

AWA is a secure vault in Svalbard dedicated to preserving the world’s most valuable data and cultural heritage for future generations. As climate change, conflict, and cyber threats endanger our shared history, AWA safeguards knowledge in a resilient, long-term format.

By immortalizing my photographs of vulnerable island communities, I give them a voice while raising an alarm on rising sea levels. With the approval of BELSPO (Belgian Science Policy Office), I also archived images of the Belgian research vessel R/V BELGICA, preserving a visual record of marine science in 2022.

Stored in Arctic permafrost, AWA ensures history remains intact for centuries to come.
