Self-portrait inside Robert Falcon Scott’s Discovery Hut, built in 1902, and used for the British Antarctic Expeditions in 1901, 1907 and 1910.

From the North Pole to the jungle, from desert dunes to the Himalayas, from the top of an active volcano to the bottom of the ocean in a submarine… No place on earth is ever too far away. Not even the Ross Sea in Antarctica.

My journeys as an adventurer and explorer have taken me to the polar extremes of our planet: from 78° North to 78° South. I circled the globe twice and explored over 113 countries across all 7 continents. I have witnessed civil unrest, poverty, creation and destruction of life, war zones and human confrontation. In addition, I have witnessed surreal beauty and the enduring power of the human spirit.

Driven by passion, inspired by ideas, attitudes and experiences, observing the world became the driving force in my life.

At age 8, I discovered the joy of photography through an old Zeiss Ikon camera. For several years, I experimented and developed an increasing passion for photography, for image and light, through my travels. With camera in hand, I combine a thirst for adventure with a love for photography, reflecting my unique personal experience.

After studying Political Science at the University of Antwerp and Global Management at the Antwerp Management School, I worked as a Communication Manager in the Flemish Parliament. Following this, I fully and passionately plunged into nature, art, traveling and photography.

Driven by the challenges of climate change, plastic pollution, declining biodiversity and the disruption of vulnerable ecosystems on remote islands and polar areas through human intervention, I see evidence of the staggering impact the human species has left on Nature. Previous projects include entering the Global Seed Vault on Svalbard, the semi-circumnavigation of the Antarctic continent, and sailing through the South Atlantic Ocean. On a trip to the South Indian Ocean I visited the stunning “Terres Australes et Antarctique Françaises” (or “T.A.A.F.”, the French subantarctic Islands). During these expeditions, I observed the relationship between man and nature from a number of perspectives.
I have sailed the five oceans: the Arctic, Atlantic, Indian, Pacific and Southern Ocean, in pursuit of my passion to document the beauty and vulnerability of our Earth.

As an artist, photographer and concerned citizen, I hope by sharing my work I can inspire and encourage others.

I am a global nomad. I am an observer — with a mission. I am deeply concerned about the disastrous effect human behaviour has had on Nature. I document this process with my photos of previously pristine remote locations. I meet locals, academics and politicians. My camera is my witness. Diversity, impact, and collective consciousness are the central principles of my work. Action is imperative in order to preserve the last havens of untouched beauty. There is a general consensus that oceans and our biodiversity are in peril.

and I am simply really curious and inquisitive.
It is my inner motion, it is what moves me in life.

one that expands the mind and one’s horizons.
